MTPU - Modular Three Phase UPS

The MTPU (Modular Three Phase UPS) is a modular uninterruptible power supply (Hot-Swap) with double conversion technology capable of satisfying all plant power requirements.
Each system can manage up to 12 modules connected in parallel, making it possible to extend or modify the system architecture directly in the plant without impacting the overall dimensions and installation.
Thanks to its high flexibility, efficiency and low cost of ownership, the MTPU has applications in many industry sectors such as transport, telecommunications, oil & gas, IT and data centres.
The strengths of the MTPU are:
  • High efficiency: >96.5% in double conversion operation thanks to 3L technology on both the PFC stage and the inverter.
  • High flexibility of configuration and expandability: thanks to its modularity, it is possible to create N+X or 2N redundant configurations for particularly critical loads. The modular design also makes it easy to increase the power or vary the level of redundancy directly in the system.
  • High reliability thanks to the design and total absence of Single Point of Failure: the failure of a single module does not affect the operation of the other units.
  • High plant availability due to low MTTR (Main Time To Repair) and "hot swap" modularity: single module replacement can be performed without disconnecting loads and without shutting down or disconnecting the plant.
  • High Power Quality on both output and input, with a power factor of 0.99 and THDI <3%.

DIMIa - Modular single phase inverter

CEG power converter, called DIMIa, is an electronic inverter (DC/AC) for heavy duty applications.
Featuring hot-plug connection and modular concept for simple use, installation and maintenance, its typical application is for industrial market (O&G, railway, naval) and for telecom systems.
The input voltage from battery is isolated from the AC output by a high frequency transformer. Nominal input voltage is standard 48Vdc and 110Vdc.
The converter can operate in wide range of temperature between -25° / +70°C and severe pollution, as all the components are protected with coating.
Output nominal power is 5 kVA with cos-fi 0,8 and 230 Vac pure sine wave. The bypass emergency line is integrated inside the module, so there’s not a single point of failure.

Typology:
The converter has 2-stages of power conversion. The first stage is a DC/DC (isolated) converter and the second stage is a single phase inverter with bypass line integrated.
It can be connected in groups of 3 converters to create a 3Ph inverter output.

DRMI (DC-UPS)

The DRMI system is a family of step-up / step-down power supplies / stabilizers, typically 3kW each, with a wide input range, capable of supplying a direct current (DC) output, starting from an AC source or in DC; the DRMI system is also capable of operating as a battery charger if equipped with the DRMI-SV board.

ORACLEX-EVOLUTION battery monitoring system

ORACLEX-EVOLUTION is the monitoring management system for cells, batteries or battery banks specifically designed for UPS. Extremely easy to use.
Thanks to predictive diagnostics, it allows you to program the replacement of critical components prior to their failure. It also allows you to constantly monitor the entire battery bank to evaluate the efficiency of individual battery element, the remaining capacity and autonomy of the battery, and the voltage of each battery (or battery packs).
Designed and optimized to be used with most types of batteries from lead acid batteries to Ni-Cd.
Complies with ATEX and IECEx standards and can be used directly in the room battery in the hazardous areas (Zone 1).

MDB-e monitoring and battery discharge

Industrial plants have installed back-up DC systems and AC UPS systems with large stationary battery strings typically ranging from 24Vdc to 240Vdc nominai system voltages at up to thousands of ampere-hour capacity.
The determination and verification of the battery performance is absolutely necessary in criticai industriai plants.
Battery capacity can degrade severely with the age of the battery and the rate of decrease of battery capacity is highly dependent upon the environmental and operating conditions.
Critical back-up systems are not always available for periodic battery testing and normally do not have the required in-built functioning to verify the true battery back-up capacity.
The MDB-e is a microcontroller-controlled system which allows the discharging of any battery bank with the typical system parameters in industriai plants. This discharging can be performed in constant current mode, constant power mode or by following a predefined discharge profile.
The MDB-e can be connected together with other MDB-e units in order to extend the tota I discharge current up to 1500A.
For the entire duration of a discharge test (up to 15 hours), data is memorized internally in the MDB-e. Up to 8 different discharge sessions can be memorized in this way and easily consulted for analysis, also using a connected PC.
During a discharge, the MDB-e constantly monitors essential battery parameters in order to stop a discharge currently in process in the case of a failure of the connected battery or a severe under-performance with respect to the predicted battery performance
